It’s Quarter 2 – Here’s a Gift

We are officially 3 months in the new year. Crazy.

When you read that, you’re 1 of 2 people. You’re either the person that gets excited about seeing all the opportunity you have for the remainder of the year, or you’re the person that gets frustrated that you haven’t done enough in the first 90 days, and get a bit scared about the remainder of the year.

I’ve been both of those people time and time again, but I’ve figured out a little template that has helped me become the first person more often than not. That template is your gift today.

It’s the Yellow Rose 90 Day Planner.

Now, there’s a LOT that we could talk about when it comes to planning, mental health, pressure, yada yada. I don’t want to bore you with EVERYTHING on that, but I do want to go into it a little bit (if you just want the template – scroll to the bottom so you can see it.

It’s really important to note that you do NOT have to be *making progress* and crushing goals all of the time. There’s a reason professional athletes have in-season and off-season. There’s a reason businesses go through seasons where sales are up, or sales are down. There’s a reason why we prescribe doing maintenance phases with our nutrition coaching…

It all comes down to sustainability.

If you tried to lose 1 pound every week forever, you would waste away to nothing.

If you tried to outperform yourself on every workout, you would push so hard you’d get injured.

If you tried to increase revenue every month forever without ever taking time off, you’d stall out, get burnt out, and eventually pack it in.

We want to find sustainability in our life, and part of that comes from planning.

Planning is powerful. It allows us to stay focused, and if we can stay focused on a few things, we can actually accomplish them rather than get distracted by a bunch of other, little, meaningless things (more on that in a future blog post). By not getting distracted and accepting that we only need a few big targets at a time, we can regain some serious mental control over ourselves!

So let’s take a look at the planner.

This planner is built for 90 days, with 30 day micro-check ins for each one.

In each 90 day chunk, I like to look at 3 different goals. These can be different for everyone, but it’s important to look at 3 goals (no more), and complete these goals fully. FULL FOCUS on these. We’re not going to get distracted on other little goals. We’re going to look at 3 goals and see them to 100% completion over the next 90 days.

What’s awesome about this template is that it’s not just a “here’s a cute place to write your goals” but it actually gives you a tangible action plan, and it really forces you to look at all of the steps that goes into achieving your goals.

Let’s say your Goal 1 is to improve your fitness (that’s my current goal 1!).

  • Write down what you need to do in the first 30 days.
  • Then write down what you need to do in days 30-60.
  • Then write down what you need to do in days 60-90.

NOTE: This is where the Good, Better, Best goal setting mentality can come into play too! I have that linked in the first comment if you aren’t sure what that is.

So your goal is probably to workout 3-5 days a week. You know that when you get to Yellow Rose that these workouts will make you fit, so attendance quotas are your only goal! Those activities include “go to Yellow Rose” and that’s pretty much it. Now, if you struggle with that, it might be to reach out to us and schedule a personal training session or something along those lines, but that’s all the activities necessary to improve your fitness!

Your other goals might be a bit more technical (increasing productivity, achieve X quota at work, optimize financials, etc etc), but you can use this template to help you plan out the next 90 days to help you achieve goals.

And the cool part is? Most of these big goals can probably be done in way less time than 90 days. You just have to fully focus, and commit to it.

If you need any help with these, I’d absolutely LOVE to do a goal review session with you. We’re here to help, so use us! Send me an email at [email protected] and we can set something up.

Let’s finish off the last quarter of the year strong and accomplish some awesome goals.

Let me know how I can help. You can always email me at [email protected]. Send me your plan!
