WInston Churchill and CrossFit?
By Dan Eakin
Here is a little inspiration for you.
“To improve is to change, so to be perfect is to have changed often.”
-Winston Churchill
I love this quote because I can interpret it in so many ways. If I take it literally, it sounds to me like Mr. Churchill had the inside track on one of the base mantras of CrossFit:
“CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity over varying time domains.”
One of the tenants of CrossFit is that constantly changing the conditions of workouts, the rules the game, promotes adaptation and improvement in general fitness. Essentially by keeping our bodies guessing we can be ready, or more ready than the next guy, for any test of fitness that can be thrown our way.
The second way I interpret this quote is by seeing it in action when I see anyone chooses to walk through our doors. The decision to make a change, to improve ourselves is hard and scary to make. It generally means exposing yourself to something new and unknown. This is much easier to do with a great group to support and encourage you. That is what I love about the Yellow Rose family. Every new member and all of us folks that have been there from the beginning are here to change for the better and encourage those around them.
We want you to achieve the “perfect” you, whatever that definition is for YOU.
The Yellow Rose family is here to help.
