I love all of the programs we offer here at Yellow Rose. From personal training to group fitness, from postpartum classes to our 50+ year old legends class… I love them ALL.
But, I do have a favorite, and it’s one that I’m not even involved in.
It’s our Youth Program, The Junior Juggernauts.
I’m going to list a few reasons why I love this program so much, and why I think you should enroll your kid(s) with us…
But the number one reason you should enroll your kids in our youth program is to build confidence and self-esteem.
Of COURSE we want our kids to develop their physical literacy through improving strength and athleticism… but our foundation is built upon elevating our kids’ confidence in themselves. We do this through a positive specific feedback system that allows them to have a voice in our environment.
We want our kids to be able to tell us their ambitions and struggles in and outside of the gym. We not only offer them a place to feel strong, but a place to feel heard. That’s how we establish trust and build a relationship deeper than just coming to the gym to workout.
We’re here to give them the physical AND emotional skills to be successful outside of these walls, and to help advance their happy and confidence for the rest of their lives.
That’s the number one reason, but here are a few more:
- To establish a positive relationship with fitness early on in their lives. I mean, how much better off would YOU be right now if you were exposed to fitness that was fun, rather than fitness that was a chore or punishment?
- To make deeper social connections are peers with shared goals and values. You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with, yes? Let’s average that time with people in a positive and encouraging environment.
- Safe, structured, fun, and challenging strength and conditioning classes. Your kid is going to start noticing the change quickly, and you’ll notice it too!
- Teamwork and leadership skills. Through partner workouts and our Coach In Training program, your kid will develop skills that will transfer outside of the gym.
- To show your kid that they can do athletic things, no matter what they currently think.
Listen, we all have those friends whose kids seem to have been born an athletic prodigy. Maybe that’s your kid, or maybe your kid is the one who struggles with athleticism, doesn’t want to play sports, and hates the idea of physical activity. This is a place for all kids, but especially the latter. This will be their place they look forward to coming to, and to have fun with their friends while improving their health, decreasing their anxiety, and increasing their confidence.
Remember when I said this is my favorite program? It’s because it’s shaping the future.
It’s building a more resilient future.
It’s building a more confident, less anxious future.
It’s building a future that focuses on health rather than vanity.
And most importantly, it’s building confidence and self-esteem in the youth in the present.
