Being a gym owner is the greatest job in the world for me, but it doesn’t come without it’s challenges. I have great days, I have bad days, I have “meh” days…
But no matter what, I always try to do at least ONE thing each day that’s going to help the gym. I call it my Daily Directive.
I write down one thing that I’m going to do, I do it, and then I know that today has been a good day. This might mean clearing my inbox, writing a blog post, meeting with a coach or a client, etc etc. Each day is a bit different, but what remains the same is doing my one thing.
And I want you to do this as well, but for your health and fitness.
Every day, I want you to do one thing to advance your happy (happy of course meaning, your all encompassing health).
This could be a variety of things, but what’s important is that you are intentionally trying to advance your happy rather than being a bystander to your life.
You could…
- Go for a 30 minute walk
- Do a personal training session or group fitness class at Yellow Rose
- Track your food for the day in My Fitness Pal
- Do a 10 minute meditation
- Focus on your hydration
This list could be endless, and that’s what is often overwhelming and why people feel like they can not achieve the health and happiness that they want. They get so caught up in all the things they think they “should” do that they don’t end up doing anything.
But single, daily, intentional actions will yield massive results in the long term.
So what’s your daily directive today to advance your happy? For me, it’s tracking my food. I’ve gotten a little loose with my intake lately, and I know that being intentional with my food will help me get back to feeling a bit better, which always helps me be happy.
I want you to pick a simple, seemingly easy directive today, execute it, and then be proud of yourself that you did it. Tomorrow, you’ll pick another one and do it again.
You’ve got this. Let me know how I can help!
