The gym is STILL growing. More and more new faces are coming in, more PRs being set, more fitness is being discovered! It’s time to grow the staff even more to keep up!

Ladies and gentleman, the team at CrossFit Yellow Rose would like to extend a huge warm welcome to Launa McClung, the newest coach at CrossFit Yellow Rose! Launa will be primarily working with the morning crew at Yellow Rose, but will be bouncing around every once in a while! Launa is a former general manager of a CrossFit gym, a high school sports performance coach, and a former collegiate athlete herself. We are SO excited to have her on the team, and can’t wait for all of you to get to know her better! Here’s a short bio from Launa:

It seems my entire life I have been involved in some type of fitness. My journey began in middle school playing sports and has been full speed ahead since. In 2007, I signed my letter of intent to play volleyball for Sam Houston State University and finished my career at Texas Woman’s University. Life after college ball was full of exploration in the fitness realm. You name it, I’ve done it (Bootcamps, garage workouts, cardio (ew), workout DVDs, globogyms, etc.)

Finally, I found Crossfit and fell in love. It awakened the competitive, gritty, determined nature in me that I was only able to fulfill playing volleyball. Fast forward 4 years, and my passion has grown into coaching athletes to awaken their inner beasts through fitness and nutrition. There is truly no fitness regimen on earth like Crossfit: constantly challenging you to become a better version of yourself and teaching you how to be functional at living life. The philosophies of functional fitness are prominent in my day to day routine whether I am training my private clients or coaching Sports Performance for high school athletes.

I am so excited to be able to be a part of the Yellow Rose Team and to help empower athletes to grow, thrive, and kick ass at life!
