You work hard.
Your friends work hard.
I work hard.
We all work hard.
Well, at least I like to think I work hard.
Running the gyms with Rachel is a ton of fun, but it’s also a ton of work.
That work, no matter how fun it is, can still wear on you. When we’re worn down for too long… it can be tough to get out of that worn down and burnt out feeling. Yesterday, I suggested that you find some activities you could do on a weekly basis to help you feel refreshed/rejuvenated and ready to keep things going…
And while I truly believe that disciplined habits are what cultivate success, sometimes you just need a good quote to remind you to get your tail back into gear.
Here’s one that my friend Tanner sent me a while back. Ever since then, I’ve remembered it whenever I get into a “ughhhhhh I don’t want to do anything right now” mindset when there are tasks that need to be done.
“As you run into a task today that you just don’t feel like completing, remember this:
Teddy Roosevelt got shot in Milwaukee before giving a campaign speech for his new political party, The Bull Moose Party. Immediately after being shot, he stepped onto the stage in front of thousands of people and said:
‘I’ve just been shot, but it’ll take more than that to kill a Bull Moose.’
He then went on to speak for over an hour.”
All of a sudden, getting in a workout, or doing a task at work, or *insert whatever simple task here* doesn’t seem that tough now, does it?
Whatever you have to do, get it done. That success of completing the first task will build momentum for the next… and the next… and the next…
See you at the gym.
