Don’t Wait

Don’t Wait

Did you know it’s October? I know, hard to believe since it was 96 degrees yesterday.

But that means in 8 weeks, it’s going to be Thanksgiving.

In 12 weeks, it’s going to be Christmas.

In 13 weeks, we ring in the new year.

BAM – 2020 is literally 91 days away.

Sooooo how are those 2019 New Years resolutions coming?

I’m not trying to guilt or shame anyone. It’s hard to believe we’re already in the fourth quarter of the year. There are certain things I haven’t done in 2019 that I told myself I would. You aren’t alone. We all tend to struggle with action.

But it seems we never struggle with over committing our calendars and using that as an excuse not to act.

Fun fact – the phrase I hate the most in life is, “I’m too busy.”

There’s a pretty heavy feeling around this time of year… and that’s the feeling of too much commitment to events.

-Wedding this weekend
-Football game next weekend
-Another wedding the weekend after that
-Halloween party
-Kids sports games
-Oh look another wedding
-Family vacation
-Company parties
-Family get together for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years

*Note – we should move Thanksgiving to the first week of August. Everything would be better.*

There’s a LOT going on right now.

It’s easy to look at the calendar, get extremely overwhelmed, and immediately dismiss the idea of taking some time for yourself to finally hit those 2019 goals of working out, eating right, and losing that weight.

If you let your calendar beat you, in 91 days you’ll be exactly where you are right now.

But then it’ll be the New Year so you can get started again! You’re going to work out, eat right, and lose some weight. You’re going to get healthy. You’re going to feel great. You’re going to get in such good shape that you’ll kick yourself for ever letting yourself get out of shape.

No, seriously, I believe you. You’ll do it. The New Year IS pretty magical… but that’s for a different post.

But you’re still going to have a busy calendar. Every time of the year is packed with commitments.

So why wait the 91 days? Get started NOW.

To hell with your “busy” schedule. You’re always going to be “busy,” but you’ll always have the time (you just need to prioritize better).

You’ve got 91 days. Do you know what you can accomplish in 91 days?

A TON OF STUFF!

-If you workout three times a week (a great place to start), you could workout 39 times before 2020.

-If you eat 3 times a day, you could try to make 273 of your next meals just a little bit smaller and healthier to get you on that path to weight loss.

-If you start going to bed 10 minutes earlier every night, you could get ~15 more hours of sleep (GLORIOUS SLEEP).

There is SO MUCH that you can do in these next 91 days.

Or you could wait until 2020 to start… then next October some jerk on the internet will tell you to start NOW instead of waiting until 2021.

You never know… over these next 3 months, you might just scratch off those 2019 goals and have some serious momentum heading into 2020????
