Something that goes hand in hand with your CrossFit/fitness – NUTRITION. While all of us on the staff here are passionate about people’s performance, and even passionate about nutrition, we know that there are better people out there to help assist you with your nutrition needs.

In fact, there are some freaking nutrition wizards out there. We’re incredibly excited about our new partnership to help our members at Yellow Rose take their fitness to the next level.


Mike Doehla is the main man leading the team of certified dietitians for Stronger U. Mike has a passion for nutrition and truly believes that their method will work with anyone and everyone. Here’s a little note from Mike to all of the members at CrossFit Yellow Rose.

We’re a nutrition coaching company called Stronger U based out of New York. We service clients in over 16 countries and that footprint is continuously growing. We currently coach people who want to look better at the beach, parents who want to be healthier for their kids, fitness models, marathon runners, CrossFitters, professional athletes, people who work desk jobs with little daily activity, and more from all walks of life and all have had amazing success. Stronger U is a group of coaches working together to help our clients reach their individual goals. Each client works 1-on-1 with a coach who is accessible at virtually any time via phone, text, e-mail, or our Facebook group exclusive to members. We believe support is the #1 feature of our program and truly believe there is no other company in this industry that offers what we do in that regard.

We developed this program because we witnessed a lot of people working out hard, being active daily, and eating clean but not seeing the body composition changes they expected. After research we found that it was due to poor food choices and not really knowing how much they were eating. Stronger U solves this problem by taking out any guesswork and not only helps you achieve personal weight loss and fitness goals but also to help educate you and give you a new outlook on food. We’ll give you a macro-nutrient (fat, carbohydrate, and protein) goal to hit daily and you’ll track in a food tracking app, like My Fitness Pal. You’ll then record all of your macro-nutrients on a custom Stronger U application along with workouts, hours of sleep, and more. It is important to be accurate and honest because this sheet gives me the detailed snapshot of how your week went which allows me to make adjustments to your macro-nutrient goals and helps us understand how we can help you reach your goal efficiently and safely. Each individual is different and will be assigned numbers based on numerous factors such as starting weight, weight loss goal, fitness performance goal, daily activity level, and more.

Another great aspect of this program is that it is non-restrictive. What I mean is that no food is on the “no-fly zone” list and as long as it fits into your plan, it can be consumed. This isn’t a diet plan or food list of things you can and can’t eat. Sure, there are quality foods you should be eating and hopefully this plan helps guide you into making better food choices, but I promise you’ll be able to fit in pizza night with the kids, a night out with your significant other, or attend all the fun holiday parties without feeling bad about it. This has been paramount to our clients’ success since we set boundaries, not restrictions.

When you sign up you aren’t only signing up for results, you are signing up to work with experts who are willing to share their craft. Stronger U’s value relies heavily on the 1-on-1 nutrition coaching approach and it’s community. Like I said earlier, your coach is available to you virtually anytime you need help. Some examples of how clients have utilized this is while in a restaurant they’ll ask for food suggestions – send us a picture and we’ll help guide you. Traveling for work? Tell us about it ahead of time and we can work together to plan for it and get some tips & tricks from current clients in the same boat as you. If you have questions on your macros or reasons why we suggest certain things, we answer them and help you understand. Again, we’re not giving you a sheet of dos and don’ts and sending you on your way – we are in this together and there is no limit on how much you can contact us. You’ll also have access to the Stronger U Facebook community which is an amazing support group of clients. Shared recipes, successes, sticking points, words of encouragement and motivation, feedback, and more is all shared here by people that are in this to achieve a specific goal just like you.
